3. New Zealand ACCOMMODATIONSUPPLEMENT Any New Zealand PR or citizen is entitled to the New Zealand Housing Subsidy Benefit.

However, the specific amount of housing subsidy varies from person to person. The amount of housing subsidy will be determined according to the applicant’s rent or mortgage, income, whether he or she has a spouse, and the area where he or she lives.

Persons who have lived in New Zealand continuously for two years and have been granted a New Zealand PR may apply for SICKNESSBENEFIT if they suffer from a medical condition (including pregnancy of 27 weeks or more) which affects their ability to work, after being certified by their family doctor.

If neither I nor my spouse has a full-time job, they can apply for a subsidy of $170.80/ person/week.

If you are single and over 25, you can apply for $204.96 per week.

Persons who have been living in New Zealand continuously for two years after obtaining New Zealand PR are entitled to apply for UNEMPLOYMENTBENEFIT if they are unemployed until they have found a full-time job.

$170.80/ person/week if the spouse is also not working full-time;

$204.96/ week is available if the applicant is single and over the age of 25.

Single Mother/father allowance (DOMESTICPURPOSESBENEFIT-SOLEPARENT) is available to individuals who have lived in New Zealand continuously for at least two years after being awarded New Zealand PR and who do not have a full-time job and need to take care of their minor children (under 18 years of age) on their own.

The amount is $293.58/ week.

Free birth is different from the domestic encouragement of eugenics and family planning. New Zealand belongs to an immigrant country, and it lacks labor force. Therefore, in New Zealand, fertility is encouraged.

All the costs of pregnancy and childbirth are covered by the state: in addition to a lump sum (NZ $1,500), the government subsidises the cost of raising a child every week until the age of 18.

Milk gold (PARENTALTAXCREDIT) if you need to take care of the children (under age 18), can apply to the InlandRevenue child allowance (WorkingForFamilyTaxCredit), commonly known as “milk” of gold.

However, both the child and the parent must be a New Zealand PR or citizen in order for the child to be entitled to milk gold regardless of whether the parent is employed or not.

Different from domestic rental housing, HOUSINGNEWZEALAND directly contacts with individuals or housing agents, signs relevant housing rental contracts and pays the rent by oneself, in New Zealand, if you can’t afford to buy a house, you can apply for government public housing, and you can own a house at no cost or only spend a little money.

Before and after the government SUPERANNUATION immigrated to New Zealand, many Chinese friends have consulted about pension problems in New Zealand. Here is a brief introduction:

A New Zealand citizen or permanent resident who has reached the age of 65 and has lived in New Zealand for 10 years after the age of 20 and for 5 years after the age of 50 is eligible to claim a New Zealand Government pension (except in special circumstances).
