How to enter Australia to study abroad

For students studying abroad for the first time, they need to make preparations in advance when entering and leaving the country. How can they enter Australia?

Here is the relevant information about studying and entering Australia. Let’s have a look!

Common sense of Australia entry preparation for studying in Australia:

Before entering Australia, you need to prepare passport, visa, air ticket and required health certificate and other necessary information in advance in the Australian embassy or consulates in China and complete the entry visa and fill in the “entry passenger registration card”, the above provided information shall not be false or concealed, especially the visa must be consistent with their own purpose to Australia, otherwise once found will be severely punished.

Before entry: Before entering the customs, you must fill in a yellow entry card with personal details and a white declaration form.

After entering the Customs, the Customs will carry out a careful inspection of the items brought in to ensure that the entry of restricted items.

In addition to dangerous goods such as firearms, weapons and drugs, restricted items include food, animals and many necessities of daily life.

Declaration requirements for Australian study and entry: In addition to the articles required to declare, for commercial purposes must be carried in large quantities or the total value of articles equal to or more than 10,000 Australian dollars necessary declaration.

Failure to do so can lead to fines and, in severe cases, jail terms of up to ten years.

If there is any confusion during the entry process, you can ask the quarantine personnel in the Customs Office.

Items acquired accidentally (including overseas) and duty-free items purchased within Australia, with a total value of more than A $400, must also be declared.

Inbound baggage for Australian students: Except for some items that need to be checked at specific entrances according to regulations, general inspection can be done in accordance with the general entry procedures.

Restrictions on entry to Australia: The foods prohibited include any dairy products and egg products (including the most common egg yolk pie and egg-filled mooncakes) except milk products from New Zealand, as well as fresh foods such as vegetables and fruits.

Any form of food, no matter dry food or preserved food, and no matter traditional Chinese medicine or western medicine, must be declared and can only be brought in with the approval of the Customs, otherwise they will be punished accordingly.

1. Immigration Card When your plane is about to land in Australia, the stewardess will issue an Australian immigration card to all the passengers. Passengers who do not understand English will get a Chinese version of the Australian immigration card, but it must be filled in in English.

It should be noted that the signature on the entry card should be the same as the signature on the passport.

In addition, the address in Australia can only be filled in the hotel of the destination city, and if you are staying at the home of your relatives and friends, please fill in the address of your relatives and friends.

2. Quarantine General students do not need to go through the quarantine. According to the Australian Customs, tourists directly entering from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland can go through the quarantine without inspection.

But people coming to Australia from Africa and America must be quarantined.

3. Immigration Check Immigration check is mainly by the immigration officers to check the passport, visa and immigration card, and ask some simple questions, such as the purpose of coming to Australia, how long they plan to stay and so on.

If the language is slightly lacking, there are interpreters at the airport, remember not to give random answers to avoid accidental misunderstanding.

When the inspectors put an entry stamp on the passport, they can enter the country.

4. Baggage claim If students have checked baggage can claim their own baggage at this time, pay attention to check their baggage when claiming, so as not to take the wrong baggage.

If your baggage is damaged or not arrived, contact the airport baggage office directly.

5. Customs clearance Under normal circumstances, the Australian Customs is relatively loose in the customs inspection of overseas tourists. They usually declare orally.

If there is nothing to declare, answer no.

But if you don’t declare the required items, you will be punished accordingly.

After that, everyone will be able to enter the country smoothly.

1. Passport and boarding pass, you’d better print a visa approval letter from the Australian government, in case the customs check it when entering the customs.

2. Wear a pair of slippers or loose shoes.

It’s comfortable and convenient to have a pair of slippers when you sit on a plane for more than ten hours at a time.

3. Bring a pen: Before the plane arrives, the stewardess will issue an immigration card. This is very important.

If you need a connecting flight, remember to ask at the departure airport when you get your boarding pass whether the luggage is connected or needs to be picked up at the connecting airport and then checked again.

Pay attention to the “International Transfer” sign at the airport, follow the sign, find the gate of your flight on the big screen at the airport, and confirm the boarding time.

When you get off the plane, always check your belongings to make sure your passport, immigration card and boarding pass are not missing.
