What changes will be made to New Zealand’s immigration policy in 2021

What changes will be made to New Zealand’s immigration policy in 2021

New Zealand has always been a traditional immigrant country, and there are many people applying to immigrate here.

Then what are New Zealand’s requirements and policies on immigration?

Here is New Zealand’s immigration policy in 2021.

New Zealand Immigration Policy changes 1, the requirements of immigration skills may improve the skilled immigrants, as the most important category of New Zealand immigration, the number of quota is also the largest one.

The government has repeatedly delayed the EOI lottery due to COVID-19. In fact, it is dealing with the backlog of applications and considering the adjustment of the skilled migration policy.

And the skilled immigration policy will also be adjusted.

It could come as early as February 2021 and as late as the end of April.

The direction of its adjustment may be based on the supply and demand relationship between different occupations and different regional demands.

The role of skilled employment, or job offers, will intensify.

New Zealand’s minimum wage will rise to NZ $20 an hour from April 1, 2021, which is set to push up the high digit wage.

Meanwhile, the score requirement of 160 for skilled immigrants is likely to remain unchanged.

Highly paid skilled immigrant applicants (twice the median salary) will be encouraged by the immigration bureau and given priority treatment, and the trend of skilled immigrants looking for money will be further strengthened.

The waiting period for the hearing of skilled immigrants will be greatly shortened, and the overall control will be about 6 months.

At present, New Zealand’s business immigrants mainly include a class of investment immigrants, a class of investment immigrants, entrepreneurial immigrants and parents with dual attributes of family and investment retirement immigrants.

Despite the impact on the economy, the New Zealand government has been slowing the processing of business immigration applications from overseas.

The reason is not that New Zealand’s government doesn’t want the investment, but that it is too concerned with its image as a non-discriminatory government to easily make an exception for investors.

On the other hand, they are afraid to directly approve business immigration applications and let applicants in for fear of antagonizing citizens and other applicants.

But we believe the government will ultimately choose between fame and profit, as the New Zealand economy desperately needs a boost of inward investment.

According to the work visa reform plan published by Immigration New Zealand, a new temporary work visa will be introduced in the second half of 2021 to replace the previous six types of employer-sponsored work visas, such as the Basic Skills Visa and the Outstanding Talent Visa (WTR).

Under the new requirements, all employers who need to recruit overseas staff will then need to apply for certification from the Immigration Department.

Without certification, it will lose the qualification to recruit overseas employees.

So Lisicen advises applicants whose work visa expires in the second half of 2021 to renew their work visa as early as possible before the new policy is introduced, as not all employers are willing to do the certification, and not all employers will be able to pass the certification, and the median salary could rise to NZ $27 by then.

In the second half of 2021, WTR visas, which are chronically in short supply and sponsored by credit employers, may face cancellation.

Applicants who meet these criteria are advised to submit their applications as early as possible to avoid missing the last WTR bus.

4. Education, a big industry in New Zealand, will be hit hard in 2022.

Universities and the Ministry of Education are currently negotiating a plan to allow 500 international students to enter the country every month.

If the government approves the plan, international students will likely be allowed in from April or May 2021.

Overseas student visa applications are likely to resume later this year.

1. One of the ways of immigration to New Zealand: skilled immigration 1) Under the age of 55;

2) IELTS score of 6.5 on average, special circumstances may apply for exemption;

3) Occupations belong to skill Level 1, 2 and 3 (672) in the ANZSCO list, some of which require New Zealand registration qualification;

4) Have qualified academic qualifications, some of which need to be certified by NZQA;

5) Good personality, no criminal record;

6) In good health and meet the requirements of physical examination.

Skilled migration requires a score of at least 160, which is generally impossible without local experience or an offer from an employer.

However, skilled immigration is one of the fastest and least expensive ways to get the status. Generally, the cost of the application stage is about 30,000 people. If you find an intermediary to help you apply, you may need to pay a certain service fee, and the total cost is generally about 50,000 yuan.

2. Two ways of immigration to New Zealand: entrepreneurial immigrants 1) Ordinary entrepreneurial immigrants require investment of not less than NZ $100,000;

2) High-value entrepreneurial immigrants require an investment of not less than NZ $500,000;

3) In addition, the minimum IELTS score is 4, and some business or management experience is required.

Based on the current exchange rate, the cost of an ordinary start-up immigrant is about 4.2 million RMB, plus some application fees and third-party fees, and the total cost is about 5 million RMB.

However, the total cost of high-priced entrepreneurial immigration is about 21 million RMB, and the capital requirements for applicants are undoubtedly very high.

3. Three ways of immigration to New Zealand: investment immigration 1) Ordinary investment immigration requires an investment of no less than NZ $3 million;

2) High investment immigration requires a minimum investment of NZ $10 million;

3) Common investment requires a minimum score of 3 in IELTS, while high investment immigrants have no age, business experience, and language requirements.

It can be calculated that ordinary investment immigration needs more than 12 million RMB, while high investment immigration needs more than 42 million RMB. It is definitely the way that ultra-high net worth applicants can choose.

4. Family reunion immigration The basic condition of reunion immigration is that the applicant must have blood relatives or spouses in New Zealand, which is not suitable for most people.

However, the specific classification of family reunions in New Zealand does not have a lot of time to open, generally speaking, there is no much cost, only the basic application fee, the total cost is about tens of thousands of yuan, the cost is very small.
