A detailed introduction of immigration policy to Canada in 2022

At present, Canada has a suitable living environment, the immigration policy is relaxed, the population of immigrants to Canada is also a lot, so what are the policies of Canadian immigration?

Let here Xiaobian take you to understand the relevant information of Canadian immigration policy, welcome to read!

Adjustment 1: Canadian EE and provincial nomination quotas have been significantly increased.

According to Canada’s Federal Immigration Service, Canada expects to accept 330,000 immigrants in 2022, a 7% increase in the overall immigration quota.

Most new immigrants are approved as permanent residents because highly skilled immigrants not only fill existing vacancies in Canada but also help create more jobs.

Adjustment two: Expand preferential policies for Chinese applicants.

1. Allow Chinese visa applicants over the age of 60 to obtain visas as soon as possible;

2. Allow Chinese applicants to pay visa application fees through UnionPay;

3. It takes no more than eight months for Chinese students to obtain a student visa.

Adjustment 3: Lower your English level.

Previously, Canada’s immigration policy required applicants to be proficient in English or French in order to apply for naturalization, and only IELTS scores were accepted.

But Canada now allows permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 54 to have more ways to prove their language proficiency meets the requirements.

Adjustment 4: Parents reunion visa holders may apply for extension of residence.

The exceptional visa is actually a form between the ordinary visitation visa and the reunion of parents. It is also a temporary method for children to keep their parents close to them.

And now the super visa policy has changed, the cardholder can apply for an extension, as long as the application is submitted 30 days before the expiration of the visa, the application is approved, even before the visa expires, they can legally continue to stay.

Adjustment 5: Lower threshold for naturalization.

In terms of naturalization, Canada has abolished the requirement of staying in Canada for four years and 183 days in a year in the past six years, greatly reducing the time required to live in Canada. As long as you stay in Canada for three years, you can be naturalized. Even if you move outside Canada after naturalization, you will not have the freedom of movement due to the cancellation of citizenship.

1. When can I start my application to study in Canada in September 2022?

Every year from September is the peak time for applications to study in Canada the following year.

The September 2022 university admissions process in Canada begins in October 2021 and students should submit their applications by January 2022.

Note that due to the limited number of places available to international students and the large number of applicants, Canadian universities are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, although the deadline for most applications to study in Canada is January, students are advised to prepare early.

Most Canadian universities require an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.0.

Of course, IELTS requirements are different for different majors, especially for business, language, engineering and other majors.

For example, the University of Waterloo requires 7 points, and some schools require 7 points for business and engineering, depending on the requirements of the school to which the student is applying.

3. Is it better to go to Canada for high school and then apply for a Canadian university after graduation?

Yes.

Many parents choose to send their children to Canada to study in high school in order to let their children enter Canada more smoothly.

For example, when a student goes to Toronto to study in high school for one year or several years and applies for a Canadian university, he or she will be a fresh high school graduate in Ontario. He or she will have priority in the admission quota of the university, which will help improve the success rate of being admitted by the university of Ontario.

4. Do I still need to provide IELTS scores when applying for universities in Canada while studying in high school in Canada?

Note that only students who have completed four full years of high school in Canada will be exempted from submitting an IELTS score when applying to a Canadian university.

Only a few universities are exempt.

5. When is the best time to take the IELTS test for the Canadian university in September of the next year?

If you have not taken the IELTS before, it is recommended to take it in August or September to see what level you are at.

The second test before December and the third test before the end of February.

Of course, students can increase or decrease the number of tests according to their own situation.

In conclusion, ensure that the university receives a qualified IELTS score before the end of March this year.

6, the Canadian university except September entry?

Is there any other time for admission?

Most Canadian universities are open in the fall, with a large number of places available in the fall and a small number in the spring.

There are few places in spring, so you may not be able to apply, so try your best to apply for autumn.

7. Can I directly transfer to Canada to study in the domestic university?

Canadian universities only accept transfers between their own universities, and it is very difficult unless there is an agreement between the universities.

Some students finish their freshman or sophomore year at a Chinese university and apply to Canadian universities from the beginning of their freshman year.

8. Can I have a part-time job while studying in Canada?

International students are only allowed to work on campus while studying in Canada.

For example, if you work as an assistant librarian or an on-campus handyman, you may engage in internship work related to your major after graduation. The requirements for obtaining employment permit are: a) the work is a necessary part of the discipline (excluding students majoring in finance and accounting and medicine);

b) The work is related to an accredited research or training program;

c) Professional internship (up to one year) after completion of university or junior college courses.

If your student visa has expired for 90 days, you can only return to Canada to renew it.

Many students and their parents are concerned about the issue of visa expiration and renewal. Generally speaking, the reason for this problem is that students forget the expiration date of their visa.

He did not renew it within the time limit, so he did not have the status to legally stay in Canada.

If it is to renew within 90 days, students can still go through the relevant procedures in Canada.

If it takes you longer than 90 days to think about it, go back to your country as soon as possible and get a new visa. Don’t take the chance that you won’t get caught. The longer you stay here illegally, the more difficult it will be to get a new visa.

Many international students who have just arrived in Canada apply for short-term courses. At this time, you do not have a long-term admission letter. The validity period of all the study permits you get is relatively short, and some students even only have a visitor visa.

However, your short-term visa is up and the new one is not ready, so you can’t stay in Canada during this period.

So pay more attention to when your license is valid and determine whether your license is open or has a designated school.

Many foreign students do part-time jobs in their spare time to accumulate experience and earn living expenses while studying abroad.

But there are also legal and illegal jobs.

In Canada, full-time students are legally allowed to work on or off campus.

If you were a full-time student and then became a part-time student, you can’t work.

Part-time students who want to work must apply for a work visa from the Department of Immigration in order to continue working.

Meanwhile, the Immigration Department has the power to check the registration status of students, and if part-time students are found to be working without applying, they will be deported back to China.

So students studying in Canada must work legally.

The main purpose of studying abroad is the school, so it is very important to have a good study record. It is recommended that students do not do any disciplinary things in school.

Once you have a disciplinary violation, the school administrator will deal with you according to the seriousness of what you have done. If the consequences are serious, you will be expelled and sent back to your country. Then you will not be able to continue your study in Canada.

Generally cheating is the most important and the most common reason for violating school discipline, in fact, it is equivalent to your academic dishonesty, no matter you are intentional or unintentional, as long as you cheat, the school will punish you severely.
