How to write the personal statement in the application document

The writing of overseas study documents is also an important condition for obtaining admission to foreign colleges and universities.

How to write the personal statement in the overseas study document?

Here we have arranged the relevant content of personal statement writing for overseas study, for your reference.

1. Educational background: What is your major in university, why do you choose this major, what have you learned from the professional study over the years, and what is the relationship with your chosen major?

2. Work experience: What positions have you held? What achievements have you made and what have you learned in the past few years?

3. Awards: What awards have you received, whether you have served as a teaching assistant, and whether you have been published or awarded for outstanding papers.

4. Special Skills and hobbies: Your special skills and hobbies should be reflected in your statement.

5. Ability to organize social activities: what activities have I participated in or organized in college, what jobs have I held, and what have I learned from them.

6. Most Outstanding talents: What do you consider to be your greatest strengths, such as leadership, organization, communication, or coordination skills?

7. Study plan and purpose: What is the study plan during the study, and how is it related to your career pursuit and career goals?

8, the most satisfying experience: what is the most satisfying work or study experience, how to do it well.

Students should have a certain knowledge and understanding of the field they are applying for.

In your personal statement and RL, you should first write a lot of professional things. For example, when writing RL, you should write a lot of details about your experiments in the voice of the instructor, and explain how you solved the problems in the process.

2, personality principle highlight their own advantages, show their own personality.

When you sit down at the computer and start writing, you have to figure out who you are and what your strengths are.

You can emphasize your diligence. After all, cleverness is only one factor of success, while perseverance, cooperation, etc., may be more important factors.

3. Highlight your strengths and be honest about any awards or special opportunities you have received.

And your most persuasive advantage is your published papers.

It’s a big deal. It’ll help you get in.

So don’t underestimate your article, and if possible, try to send to foreign magazines.

1) PS is not autobiography many students write PS autobiography or running books, this is not right.

When drafting, you can list the main content in chronological order, but in the end, you should follow the pattern required by PS — paragraphwise by content, not paragraphwise by time.

2) Writing style The language here mainly refers to the writing style. Many students write PS as lyric or prose, which is also wrong.

In PS can express some feelings, but not too much, because the ultimate goal is to recommend yourself, the meaning of recommendation is to use arguments to do support, as long as your views, meaning clearly can be.

Don’t use abstract sentences or words.

3) The writing level of grammar questions varies from person to person, so I suggest that students must choose their own writing style, do not blindly pursue the expression form of compound sentences, simple sentences can also write a good article.

In addition, it is better to use familiar words in word selection. For experienced readers, the level of writers is obvious, and they can see at a glance which words and sentences are beyond their ability.

Don’t make a hard mistake in grammar, to express clearly as the premise.

4) Family background Many students write about their family background, family background can be mentioned, but do not describe in a large length.

Because what they care about is not your family background, but how you were influenced by it, that is, how your parents influenced you.

If you do, it is recommended to relate to your chosen major.

5) The country chooses many students to write a single paragraph or even a large length about why they want to study in the UK. In fact, the country’s choice is not a requirement of PS. It can be omitted or mentioned in a word, which is nothing more than a high-quality learning environment.

The same is true for the choice of school, emphasis should be placed on the choice of major.

6) highlight content has a good PS must be in good content, for support, advice how to highlight some content, because usually, the school reviewers will only take 5 minutes of time to see a student’s application materials, see a PS time can’t more than 3 minutes, then gorgeous language if there is no good content to support, also can let you forget.

7) Data and Examples Schools like to see you use data and examples to back up what you’re saying, so it’s a good idea to list your accomplishments, certifications, and awards (with dates) and explain them accordingly, especially what you’ve learned from these experiences.

8) Career Planning and Vision for the Future Schools are more interested in what you do than what you want to do.

So focus on what you’ve learned. For career planning and vision for the future, you can write, but don’t write too much. One or two sentences is enough.

9) Emphasis on details One big difference between English writing and Chinese writing is that English writing starts from a small point, while Chinese writing tends to start from a large point, which is often overlooked by Chinese students when writing PS. Many languages are big and empty, and they do not like to use examples.

Detail is part of the content and it is what makes you stand out from the crowd of applicants. Examples are an effective way to overcome this problem, but at the same time be careful not to be verbose and write nonsense.

It is suggested that the writing of PS should not show too strong utilitarian, such as starting a company in the future, becoming the second Bill Gates or Buffett. After all, the main purpose of the school training you is to serve the society in the future.
