What Chinese students should pay attention to when studying in the UK

Students and parents who are just preparing to study abroad should not follow the trend of choosing the so-called hottest schools and the best majors.

You need to plan your career and future life, choose the right school and major.

You have a picture in mind and then negotiate with an agent.

Here is a small edition to talk about the problems that Chinese students should pay attention to when studying in the UK. Welcome to read.

Generally, if a student can be accepted by a British school, it means that the student is capable enough, and there will be no big problem in the language.

And in the freshman course is generally not good and difficult, for students to adapt to it is very good.

However, students may have some difficulties in class and communication when they just come to the UK, which is normal. Even students who are good at English and even have exchange experience abroad need some time to adapt, so the failure to adapt at the beginning does not mean that their level is not enough.

Generally, as long as you can pass the IELTS exam, you can follow it.

You’d better go to a prep school, because the prep school in the UK not only teaches the language, but also some other courses.

In short, if your language ability is poor, it is really difficult to adapt, but if you are willing to supplement, then you can follow.

In fact, we don’t have to worry about food, clothing, housing and transportation. The quality of life here in the UK can still be guaranteed, but the specific is still related to the region where the school is located.

For food, there are restaurants around the school.

In terms of travel, if your school is in a rural town, then it will be very troublesome to travel, basically go to a far place to take a long bus.

If BE SUCH A PLACE, BASICALLY A SMALL TOWN WITH RESPECT TO A SCHOOL, SUCH LIFE OR VERY COMFORTABLE, BUT ALSO BE BORED REALLY MORE EASILY.

In terms of accommodation, you can live on campus or rent a house by yourself, which are able to choose according to your own conditions.

3. Undergraduate or postgraduate study in the UK?

In fact, there are both good and bad aspects to studying in the UK or going out after undergraduate study. If you want to determine which is a more prudent way for you, you have to take into account many factors, such as your own preferences and personality, the direction you want to develop in the future and so on.

If I study in the UK as an undergraduate, I will be better integrated into the cultural environment here. Besides, I will have more advantages in language than if I study in the UK as a graduate student, and it will be easier to adapt to life.

Ideologically, students who go to the UK for undergraduate studies are more likely to accept British concepts here, while students who go to the postgraduate stage are practically similar in their thinking, so it is difficult for them to accept British concepts.

The British time “GMT” is called “Greenwich Mean time” in Chinese. It is the standard time in the United Kingdom and the reference standard around the world.

England IS 8 HOURS BEHIND Beijing TIME.

But during daylight saving time, which runs from the end of March to the end of October, the time difference between Britain and China is seven hours.

When foreign students first arrive in the UK, they may feel out of place because of their different eating habits.

It is suggested that you arrange your diet reasonably every day and pay attention to the collocation of nutrition.

If you want to understand Britain, you should also understand its food culture.

Over time, you will find many delicious foods, such as Fish and Chips, Cream Tea, Jacket Potato, Cheese Cake…

Medical and health overseas students in the UK can enjoy free access to health centres in the UK for more than six months of study.

This benefit also applies to your spouse and children under the age of 16.

1. Free refers to free medical treatment and prescription, and the purchase of drugs is still charged.

But if you’re seriously ill, it’s all free.

2. Please apply for medical registration and medical card as soon as you arrive at school.

You can do this at the university medical center and the university will recommend a doctor to you.

3, before going abroad, please check your teeth and eyes, because in the UK, treatment of teeth and eyes are charged, and the price is not cheap.

British financial industry is very developed, students in the UK to often deal with banks, the following are some basic knowledge: 1, “Cash Card” : you can withdraw cash from the bank or ATM;

2. “Chegue guarantee card” : When you use a check, the merchant requires you to show this card.

The card states the maximum amount of checks that can be written at a time;

3, “Debit card” : The use of this card can be directly consumed in the store, the fee is directly deducted from your account through the bank settlement system.

The above three cards can often be merged into one card, which is very convenient to use.

4, “Credit card” : allow you to pay after spending, you will regularly receive the bill of last month, you are required to arrange payment matters;

5, “Current account” : current cash account used for deposit and withdrawal.

Low or no interest;

6. “Saving account” : a time deposit account that requires advance notice and pays interest.
