What are the application requirements for international students to study at Northeastern University? How much does it cost?

Northeastern University, founded in 1898, is a famous private research-based institution of higher learning in the United States. Its campus is located in Boston, Massachusetts, in the northeastern United States.

At present, the university has set up a total of eight schools, 65 departments and 125 majors. Its courses cover the three stages of bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degree. In order to guarantee the employment of students, it even offers vocational courses and has many internship programs.

What are the application requirements and fees for international students studying at Northeastern University in the United States?

1. Application Requirements for International students to Study at Northeastern University:

To apply for the undergraduate program at Northeastern University, students are required to provide a qualified and excellent TOEFL or IELTS score. As it stands, applicants must have a total score of 99 on the TOEFL, a minimum score of 92 on the TOEFL, and a minimum score of 24 on the speaking and 22 on the other components.

The total score of IELTS should not be lower than 6.5, and the four individual parts of listening, speaking, reading and writing should not be lower than 6.0.

If a student’s language score is not high enough to meet the school’s minimum admission standard, he or she will also need to take an English proficiency assessment test before entering the school. Only if he or she passes this test can he or she be admitted.

(2) Educational background: Generally, domestic high school graduates and freshmen can apply. If they have graduated from high school, they need to provide the transcript and graduation certificate of the three years of high school. The average score of the three years of high school should not be less than 3.0.

If you are a first-year student, you will need to provide proof of enrollment and recent grades, again with an average score of not less than 3.0.

There are three opportunities to apply to Northeastern University for the fall semester. The main application deadlines include November 1st and January 1st.

However, it is important to remind everyone that there are also time limits for submitting personal materials and personal works. The application deadlines are November 7 and January 16 respectively.

Step 1: Take standardized tests, such as TOEFL and SAT.

Among the two tests, TOEFL is mandatory. Some schools allow IELTS to replace TOEFL scores.

The SAT, on the other hand, is also required if a student wants to apply to a highly ranked school.

Step 2: Go to the website to complete and submit the application. Step 3: Prepare the application materials.

In addition to TOEFL and other standardized test scores, high school transcripts, personal statements, letters of recommendation, resume, and other supporting materials, such as study certificate or graduation certificate, notarized copy of degree certificate, deposit certificate, etc., are required to apply for undergraduate programs at Northeastern University.

Step 4: Send your materials and wait for admission results.

Step 5: Contact the school.

American universities may ask students to submit other information when reviewing the materials, so be sure to contact the school authorities immediately after the materials are sent to follow up on your application experience.

Step 6: Get the university admission notice, pay the deposit and apply for the visa.

3. Tuition fees for studying in Northeastern University: Although the fees for different majors are different, overall, the tuition fees for studying in Northeastern University for one year are about 30,000 US dollars.

Of course, if students choose popular majors, such as business accounting, finance, science and engineering chemical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, the cost is higher, at least around $40,000 to $50,000.

In addition to the basic tuition fee, students pay an application fee of about $65.

Living expenses: there is no fixed standard of living, usually and the price level of the school is located in the region, and students’ personal consumption ability, consumption habits have a great relationship, and involves people’s clothing, food, housing and transportation in all aspects.

As far as the current situation is concerned, accommodation cost and catering cost account for the largest proportion. If international students have the opportunity to live in the student dormitory provided by the university, they can eat and live in the university, so the annual accommodation cost can be controlled at about $10,000.
