The Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation (PSEF) has recently announced the recipients of its scholarships for the year, providing a total of 37 scholarships amounting to $61,500 to deserving Polson High School seniors and former graduates currently pursuing higher education at accredited institutions.
These scholarships, ranging from $500 to $4,000, are made possible through generous donations from various sources, including individuals commemorating loved ones, alumni classes, civic organizations, and employees of School District #23. Notably, PSEF supplements each $500 donation with an additional $500, ensuring each high school senior receives a $1,000 scholarship.
Among the notable awards are the Alumni Class of ’59 and the Trusler Family Vocational Scholarship, each providing $1,000, matched by PSEF to offer $1,500 scholarships to Carson Hupka and Fiona Rettig respectively. Furthermore, PSEF sponsored three $1,000 scholarships, presented to Torrin Ellis, Brock Henriksen, and Avery Starr.
Several high school seniors also received $1,000 scholarships from various donors, reflecting the diverse range of scholarships available through PSEF. These scholarships honor individuals such as former educators, community members, and alumni, illustrating the deep-rooted support within the Polson community for educational endeavors.
Moreover, 18 scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $4,000 were awarded to current college students, including a significant contribution of $12,000 from Ron Maki. This generous donation funded three $4,000 scholarships for former Polson students, underscoring the commitment of both donors and PSEF to supporting higher education.
The Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation, established in 2002 as Polson Dollars for Scholars, has been instrumental in expanding access to post-secondary educational opportunities for Polson High School graduates. Through fundraisers, tax-deductible donations, and memorial scholarships, PSEF has provided a cumulative total of $488,500 in scholarships to date, making a meaningful impact on the lives of students and families in the Polson community.
