Canada is a beautiful and welcoming country that attracts millions of visitors every year. If you are planning to visit Canada with your parents, then you will need to apply for a Canada visitor visa. The process of applying for a Canada visitor visa can seem daunting, but by following the steps outlined in this article, you can ensure that the process goes smoothly.

Step 1: Determine the eligibility criteria

Before applying for a Canada visitor visa for your parents, it is essential to determine whether they are eligible to apply for the visa or not. The eligibility criteria for a Canada visitor visa include:

1.Your parents must have a valid passport
2.They must be in good health and willing to undergo a medical examination if required
3.They must have sufficient funds to cover their stay in Canada
4.They must have a clean criminal record
5.They must convince the immigration officer that they will leave Canada at the end of their authorized stay
Your parents’ eligibility will be assessed based on these criteria, so it is important to ensure that they meet all the requirements before submitting the application.

Step 2: Gather the required documents

To apply for a Canada visitor visa for your parents, you will need to gather the following documents:

1.A completed Visitor Visa (IMM 5257) form
2.A family information form (IMM 5645)
3.A letter of invitation from you, which includes your contact details, the purpose of the visit, and the duration of the stay
4.Your parents’ passport
5.Two recent passport-sized photographs of your parents
6.Proof of financial support, such as bank statements, pay stubs, or a letter of support from you
7.Evidence of ties to their home country, such as property ownership, employment, or family ties
8.A copy of your birth certificate or citizenship certificate, if applicable
Each of these documents plays an important role in the visa application process and must be submitted in the correct format as per the guidelines provided by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Step 3: Submit the application

Once you have gathered all the required documents, you can submit the application for a Canada visitor visa for your parents. You can submit the application online or in person at a visa application centre (VAC). The processing time for a Canada visitor visa can vary depending on the location and time of year, so it is advisable to apply well in advance of your parents’ planned visit.

If you choose to submit the application online, you will need to create an account on the IRCC website and upload all the required documents. You will also need to pay the visa fee, which is CAD $100 per person.

If you choose to submit the application in person, you will need to book an appointment at a VAC and bring all the required documents with you. You will also need to pay the visa fee at the time of submission.

Step 4: Attend the biometrics appointment

As part of the application process, your parents will need to attend a biometrics appointment. At the appointment, their fingerprints and a photograph will be taken. The biometrics fee is CAD $85 per person.

Your parents will receive a letter from the IRCC instructing them when and where to attend the biometrics appointment. It is important to attend the appointment on time and bring all the necessary documents, including the letter from the IRCC.

Step 5: Wait for the decision

After submitting the application and attending the biometrics appointment, your parents will need to wait for a decision on their visa application. The processing time can vary depending on the location and time of year, but most applications are processed within a few weeks.

If your parents’ application is approved, they will receive a visitor visa in their passport. The visitor visa will specify the duration of their authorized stay in Canada and any conditions attached to their visit.

If the application is rejected, your parents will receive a letter explaining the reasons for the rejection. If you believe that the decision was made in error, you can appeal the decision within 30 days of receiving the refusal letter.

Conclusion:

Applying for a Canada visitor visa for your parents can seem like a daunting process, but by following these steps, you can ensure that the process goes smoothly. Remember to check the eligibility criteria, gather all the required documents, and submit the application well in advance of your parents’ planned visit. With a bit of preparation and patience, your parents will soon be on their way to experiencing the beauty and diversity of Canada.
