The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is kicking off USAC Week from February 24 to 28, 2025, to showcase its more than 50 international study programs. The week is designed to give students a comprehensive look at opportunities for studying abroad, with a particular focus on cultural immersion, language learning, and academic growth.
USAC Week will feature a range of events, including a Study Abroad Fair on February 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Knowledge Center corridor. This fair will provide detailed information on the 50-plus programs offered by USAC, along with discussions on financial aid, scholarships, and the application process. On February 25, students can attend a “Study Abroad on a Budget” seminar at the USAC advising center from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., which will cover ways to manage the financial aspects of studying abroad. In addition, USAC will have a table at the Pennington Student Achievement Center on February 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for students who want more personalized information.
Special guests from USAC’s program sites in Shanghai, China, and Reggio Emilia, Italy, will be attending events to share their experiences and provide insights into these study locations.
The Shanghai program offers students the chance to study Chinese language and international business, providing a unique perspective on East Asia’s economic environment. In addition to academic coursework, students can engage with the city’s vibrant art scene, explore museums, enjoy sports events, and immerse themselves in local life.
Meanwhile, the Reggio Emilia program in Italy provides students with the opportunity to learn Italian and explore Italian culture, food, and history in a charming, mid-sized city. Known for its high quality of life and low tourist traffic, Reggio Emilia offers a more authentic Italian experience. The program focuses on Italian language and studies, health and nutrition, and education.
USAC Week provides an excellent opportunity for UNR students to learn more about how studying abroad can enhance their academic journey and cultural understanding. For more details, students can visit the USAC events or contact the office for further information on how to get involved.
