2. Countries with a “refugee quota” exemption from the EU: Excluding the UK, which is about to “hard Brexit”, only Ireland and Denmark enjoy this right among EU member states.

As an ordinary Chinese citizen, the purpose of naturalization can be achieved through normal legal and continuous residence. The length of residence requirements vary from country to country in the European Union.

(Except for special circumstances such as naturalization by marriage or birth.) However, you only need to live in Ireland for five consecutive years to become a naturalized citizen.

With its short residency requirement and no citizenship or language test, Ireland has won a clean bill of health among several EU countries.

Getting an EU passport actually means you can enjoy the benefits of other EU countries!

And most benefits cover different things, such as work benefits, social benefits and so on, but having an Irish passport is more than just having the benefits of the other 27 EU member states:

The Department of Education and Science in Ireland is responsible for education and the development of the educational system and program, including the setting of the curriculum and the administration of unified national examinations. The compulsory and free education in Ireland is from primary school to university.

However, universities can reduce tuition fees only for public universities where students from European Union countries are studying. Besides tuition fees, they have to pay sponsorship fees, examination fees, and sharing fees.

The Irish social welfare system covers all internationally recognized forms of social security. The main components of the system include: support for people seeking employment, low-income groups, exemption or reduction of dental and eye care costs, and various secondary benefits, such as pensions, subsidies for fuel, television licensing and telephone rental costs.

Work benefits: If you are unemployed in Ireland, the Irish Employment Authority will provide you with vocational training and employment opportunities, as well as jobseeker’s benefits, jobseeker’s allowance and so on.

“Little leverage to Big Earth Effect” : Welfare costs in Ireland are relatively low as a proportion of the normal cost of living, so you can enjoy many local benefits in Ireland with only a small proportion of the cost of living!
