How much does it cost for Chinese students to study at Birmingham as an undergraduate

Founded in 1900, the University of Birmingham is a public university. As a large public comprehensive university, it represents a kind of innovation in higher education. It is also one of the oldest “red brick universities” in the UK.

Let’s take a look at how much it costs Chinese students to study at the University of Birmingham.

The University of Birmingham is one of the top 100 universities in the world and an established university in the UK, located in Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK.

With the high quality of teaching and research in various fields has been recognized by many students.

As a postgraduate student at Birmingham University, the annual tuition fees are around ¡ê20,000, accommodation costs around ¡ê6,000 and living costs around ¡ê10,000.

Overall, the annual cost of studying abroad is about 320,000 yuan.

Undergraduate courses are divided into four categories (classroom, secondary, laboratory and clinical), which cost ¡ê13,860 /¡ê15,300 /¡ê18,000 /¡ê32,580 respectively.

Accommodation: The University of Birmingham will provide accommodation and security for international students in the first year. The price is higher than the price of accommodation.

In the school dormitory, will arrange 3-7 people in the same set of housing, can arrange every student has a separate room, kitchen and sanitary napkin is common, however, if the required room with separate toilet prices are relatively high, the dormitory type can choose to cook, this will save a lot of the meals,

Accommodation costs between ¡ê80 and ¡ê250 a week.

In order to save money, in the second year, you can choose to share an off-campus house with your classmates or choose a host family. The price will be much cheaper than living in the on-campus dormitory, but the safety cannot be guaranteed.

Food and drink: Three meals a day at the University of Birmingham will cost around ¡ê150 a month on a regular basis, or around ¡ê300 a month if you are dainty about food and drink.

Transportation cost: If the off-campus accommodation is near, most students will choose bicycles as the means of transportation. If they choose other means of transportation, the monthly transportation cost will be about 100-200 pounds.

Applicants are required to hold a high school diploma in China with an average score of 80% or above.

Language score: IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 for each item;

A minimum score of 80 in TOEFL, 19 in reading/listening/writing and 21 in speaking is required in English.

Or have a PTE score, different professional courses have certain differences in English requirements.

Application materials: require applicants: passport personal information page scan, and high school certificate or reading (+ justice in both Chinese and English), school report card (Chinese and English + justice), 1-2 letters of recommendation, personal statement (5000 words), resume (MBA), certificate of honor (+ justice) in both English and Chinese, the language result, certificate of deposit.

Application deadlines: The University of Birmingham has two deadlines for undergraduate applications: January if you start in February and August if you start in September.

It is recommended to start preparing your application a year in advance and plan ahead so that you do not miss the time.

1. Get to know the university and its department: check the admission requirements on the official website of the University of Birmingham to see if you can meet the admission requirements, as well as the language score and study fee.

2. Fill in the application form: You can fill in the application form directly online. If you cannot fill in the application form online, you can contact the Admissions and Admissions office. Please fill in the personal information in the application form carefully, and the English version of relevant documents.

3. Review the application form: During this period the University of Birmingham will review all the information provided by you. In exceptional cases, applicants will be contacted for questions.

4. Wait for admission results.

5. Change to CAS. CAS means that after the student accepts the offer from the University of Sheffield, the university will send the student a confirmation letter after paying part of the tuition fee to the university.

6. Apply for a visa.

7. Consult your luggage list online and prepare your luggage so you don’t get caught up in the time crunch.

8. Study in the UK.
