How to Apply for Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot

The Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP) is a program designed to support the economic growth and development of the Atlantic provinces, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. The AIP allows employers in these provinces to hire foreign workers and international graduates to fill job vacancies that they are unable to fill with local talent. In this guide, we will provide you with a step-by-step process on how to apply for the Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Before you begin your application, it is important to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for the Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot. To be eligible, you must have a job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic provinces. The job offer must be for a full-time position, lasting at least one year, and must be in one of the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels:

  • NOC Skill Level 0: Management Occupations
  • NOC Skill Level A: Professional Occupations
  • NOC Skill Level B: Technical Occupations and Skilled Trades

You must also meet other requirements, such as language proficiency, education, and work experience.

Step 2: Find an Employer

To apply for the Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot, you will need to have a job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic provinces. There are various ways to find an employer, such as networking, job search websites, or recruitment agencies. You can also check the AIP designated employers list to see which companies are authorized to hire through the AIP.

Step 3: Receive Endorsement from the Province

Once you have secured a job offer, your employer must apply for endorsement from the province where the job is located. This endorsement is a requirement for your immigration application and helps to ensure that you will be able to successfully settle and integrate into the community. The employer will need to submit an application to the province, which includes information about the job offer and the candidate.

Step 4: Apply for a Work Permit

Once you have received endorsement from the province, you can apply for a work permit through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). You will need to include your job offer and endorsement letter in your application. IRCC will review your application and may request additional documentation or information.

Step 5: Apply for Permanent Residency

After you have worked for at least one year with your employer in the Atlantic province, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency through the Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot. To apply, you will need to meet the eligibility requirements for permanent residency and submit an application to IRCC.

Conclusion

The Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot provides an opportunity for foreign workers and international graduates to live and work in the Atlantic provinces of Canada. It is important to check your eligibility, secure a job offer, receive endorsement from the province, apply for a work permit, and eventually apply for permanent residency. By following these steps, you can increase your chances of success in your application to the Canada Atlantic Immigration Pilot.
